Technical part aside; have you designed your idea on paper? I can not imagine that I would like working with a search functionality with button overload when I could clear the fields by selecting with my mouse and just hit backspace instead which does not seem too bad in comparison.

I think that if you really need this, you have to create your own custom search widget.  You may want to use the gridsearch widget from the appstore as an inspiration.

But be careful: sticking to the standard options Mendix offers is in most cases your best option because of low risk and effort.
