Export to CSV Error

Good Afternoon, When trying to export data to csv by clicking the ‘Export to CSV’ button I get an error. The Exporter works locally, but as soon as it is on the cloud it produces the following errors: ERROR - ConnectionBus_Retrieve: The association 'System.owner' of object 'Module1.ModuleObject1' with data store id '1' refers to a non-existing object 'System.User' with data store id '2'. ERROR - ActionManager: Exception in execution of monitored action ' {} ' (execution id: 82800921-b969-41be-ac56-db6d389e2c38, execution type: CLIENT_ASYNC_MONITORED) ERROR - ActionManager: com.mendix.core.CoreRuntimeException: Exception occurred in action ' {} ', all database changes executed by this action were rolled back at com.mendix.basis.actionmanagement.CoreActionHandlerImpl.processErrorState(CoreActionHandlerImpl.scala:160) Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: null ERROR - Connector: An error has occurred while handling the request. Brent,

2 possibilities come to mind  Both are a result of the system.owner object being one of the columns you are trying to export:

  • the owner for one or more objects you are trying to export has been deleted from your application, so the export process can’t export the owner name
  • the logged in user doesn’t have rights to view the owner of an object that is being exported.  For instance, if you have 2 user roles (Admin and User) and Admin has rights to manage all users and User doesn’t have rights to manage any users, if you try to export while logged in with User role, you may see an error.  These user management rights are set in Project | Security | User Roles tab on the detail page for each user role.

How to troubleshoot – if you are trying to export object owners, remove this column and see if you get the error.  If so, you could create an exportable object – export, then delete the creator of that object and try to export again.  You should be able to reproduce this error on your local machine by modifying the data being exported and/or deleting an object owner.

Hope that helps,

Mike
