Custom Widget vs Building Block

0
Just out of curiosity, is there a reason to build a custom widget over making a building block? This is for theme-specific content styling. We have existing web components, and I found that they aren’t to hard to implement into a pluggable widget, but they can also be implemented in a building block as well. So I was just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are of either case.

Hi William,

Usually you would use a custom widget or pluggable widget to be able to execute javascript and do more advanced UI enhancements. If you just need to add elements to a page then I would go with building blocks. If you need to add custom html, then you can check out the html snippet in the appstore and use that widget in a building block.
