Hi, Not sure if this is the correct but forum but thought I’d give it a go. I am trying to update from v8.1.1 to v8.2.2 and whilst  attempting to download, my Antivirus (Bullguard) has blocked and moved to quarantine an infected file “Mendix 8.2.2.60770-Setup.tmp”:- Infected object: Mendix-8.2.2.60770-Setup (2).tmp Malware: Trojan.GenericKD.41912890 Path: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\is-C37N2.tmp\Mendix-8.2.2.60770-Setup (2).tmp Infected process: [10652] C:\Users\Owner\Downloads\Mendix-8.2.2.60770-Setup (2).exe 21/10/2019 14:18:23   As such I cannot continue with the update. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks  Grant

Hi Grant,

We have changed the installer technology in Mendix 8.1.0. Since then, the installer has not changed, so if you could install 8.1.1, you should be able to install 8.2.2 just fine.

I would recommend you to do the following:

  • Check your downloaded Setup.exe file’s digital signature. It could be a broken download and therefore a broken digital signature, which might seem suspicious to your anti-virus.
  • Upload your downloaded Setup.exe file to VirusTotal.com. Here’s the result for Mendix-8.2.2.60770-Setup.exe file I have just downloaded from the App Store: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/5fd7179b461852f5702f1f5844c26ad7bd6c03ca4fdb1346bffd12428ab3e511/detection
  • Check your computer for viruses. If possible, use a different anti-virus scanner from what is currently installed on your machine.

Please note that we do not recommend you to disable your anti-virus.

If everything appears to be fine with your computer and the file, then please either contact your system administrator to see if they have stricter policies, or, if this is your personal computer or you have installed the AV software yourself, please contact the vendor of your anti-virus to check with them if they have any known false-positives.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope this helps.

Best regards,
Alexander.
