I'm working on a project with attachments for the main entity, using file documents. The requirement is that when a new version of the file is uploaded, it replaces the old file. But the only option I see is to retrieve attachments with the same file name but a different ID, and deleting it, before committing the new file. But preference would be to replace the file sharepoint or dropbox style. Is this possible? I'm using the Dropzone module from the app store, if that helps.

You can copy the Contents from the new document to the Contents of the old document. Then the ID etc would stay the same.
