Cannot log in after downloading new version

I deleted Mendix Modeler 7.13 and then installed version 7.23.1, however I cannot log in. It says; “You are currently offline. We can't log you in because you are not connected to the internet. When you're back online hit the "Try again" button below. Or continue and work offline." Meanwhile I am connected with the internet, also deleted every other Mendix related file to perhaps solve the problem.

Is it possible that you’re working through a proxy/firewall that won't let you allow to connect to mendix’s authentication services?
