Reference Selector - Fix the value in drop down when updating a record value

I have a set of values on a page – when i click on the record and update it, by functionality it traverse to edit page where I can edit all the values (attribute values) associated with that record. But when i move to edit page , the reference selector value (i.e drop downs) moves to default value and does not show the actual value associated with that record. How can we fix the reference selector (drop down) value. PS : I am not using the default DB . I am populating data through microflows using external rest end points.
