Default data grid search date to first day of year

I have a data grid of items with dates. I want to be able to search these items by date, so I have two search fields, a minimum date and maximum date search. I want the minimum date to default to the first of this year without hard-coding it. The only options available however are current day. Is there a way to default this field to the first of the year? I’m using 8.14 but the version selector doesn’t have that option.
