MiN no longer finds the App-server running on my laptop

Although my laptop is on the same wifi connection as my Panasonic Toughbook scanner when running MiN on my scanner, it gives the familiar error:

but it is running:

Again: client (scanner, Android 8) and server (laptop) are on the same wifi-connection.

Changing the ‘Enable dev mode' or 'Clear data' has no effect, as to be expected.

Connected the scanner via an usb-cable to my laptop, opened Powershell and issued ‘adb logcat’ but there are no log messages related to this connection issue at all.

 

Any ideas what else to check?
