Ability to reply to closed posts

when an idea topic is closed (by Mendix), the community is unable to discuss the idea further which has the side effect of shutting down any form of community building and self organization.

This seems like a huge missed opportunity because I believe there are people that would like to discuss ideas further and create a solution once the topic has been answered and closed by Mendix.

you could definitly do this and this is what has been happening so far, there are some slight drawbacks.

  • Loss of context (not feeling heard)
  • Multiple posts resulting in the forum being less clear (cluttered forum)
  • disability to add weight to an already closed idea (not feeling heard).

also I think its healthier to allow people to voice their opinions then to shut them down.
